Walgreens and Express Scripts – The End of a Partnership
Some clients of Express Scripts would be disappointed when they find out that Walgreens will no longer be part of the Express Scripts program. This came about since Express Scripts was not willing to negotiate new terms to keep Walgreens customers happy like the 90-day refills at the pharmacy, steady rates, and discounts for people in the military. This is disheartening, since Walgreens is easily accessible, what with its 24/7 operation, drive-thru pharmacies, and the fact that it’s everywhere. Now, Express Script users would have to drive farther where they can use it. Indeed, the end of the partnership between Walgreens and Express Scripts has affected and will affect more people.
Nevertheless, Walgreens continues to move forward by offering discounts to customers who want to join the Prescription Savings Club at Walgreens. This program would benefit everyone, whether a current Express Scripts member or not. Normally, the annual membership for this club costs $20 for an individual and $35 for a family. However, for the month of January, individuals can join for just $5 while families may do so for $10.
People who will join this club are entitled to savings onmore than 8,000 generic and non-generic medications. If you want to find out more about this program, be sure to like Walgreens on Facebook and follow the updates of Walgreens on Twitter.
